Centre 112

By calling 112, a unique emergency number, the user does not have to call different numbers of the police, emergency medical care or firefighters. The Ministry of the Interior, Civil Protection Directorate (Centre 112) prepares, plans and manages task force and co-ordinates the activity of all participants in protection and rescue.

Police

The Police Administration of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County is responsible for the territory of the city of Rijeka, there are three police stations in the city, and traffic police and maritime police stations.

Firefighters

The Public Fire Brigade of the City of Rijeka and voluntary firefighters’ associations “Sušak-Rijeka” and “Drenova”  operate within the  firefighting system in the territory of the city.

Emergency medical treatment

The Emergency Medicine Centre operates within the Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka with its two wards – Rijeka i Sušak, furthermore the Institute of Emergency Medicine of the Primorje – Gorski Kotar Region also operates in Rijeka.

Maritime search and rescue

The National Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre supervises maritime traffic and voyage control through 24 hours duty service. It is available on free phone 195.

Croatian Mountain Rescue Service

The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service provides first aid to injured people in inaccessible territories, first of all in mountains and speleological objects, where other services cannot (police, ambulance cars) accede.  The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service – Rijeka Station, can be contacted 24 hours a day on phone 091 721 000.
