At the Delta bus terminal, 23 out of 37 new buses were presented that the utility company Autotrolej acquired under the EU project “The purchase of new buses for the utility company Autotrolej II”.

By entering into service 37 new buses, the capacities of Autotrolej will improve and bring it closer to EU standards, increasing travel speed and reducing operating costs, also improving traffic reliability and safety and reducing emission of harmful gases and air pollution.

Out of the 23 new “Iveco” vehicles that were presented to the public today, 12 are standard single partially low-entry vehicles Crossway Low Entry that will be used on urban and suburban lines, worth HRK 21,614,400.00 (VAT included) with a capacity of 90 passengers, and 11 are suburban midi, branded “Iveco Feniksbus” worth HRK 11,996,600.00 (VAT included), with 36 passenger seats.

The mayor of Rijeka, Marko Filipović, emphasised that the purchase of the new buses would increase the quality of the service provided to passengers by the utility company Autotrolej, both in urban and suburban transport. “The continuation of the renewal of the vehicle fleet of Autotrolej through EU funds is also a continuation of the policy of good cooperation with the competent Ministry and the European Union. We are preparing for the next tranche of European funding, in this case by focusing probably on the purchase of electric vehicles”, said the mayor Filipović, adding that with the new 37 buses the average age of the vehicle fleet of Autotrolej dropped to 7 years.
