Project Title

BOOST5: Leveraging results of 5 IT-HR projects to boost touristic valorisation of cultural, off-road, industrial and natural heritage

Project goal

The aim of the project is to improve the tourist valorization of cultural, industrial and natural heritage and encourage sustainable economic development, using the results of five completed projects within the Interreg IT-HR programme.

Duration

1 June 1 2022 – 1 July 2023

Description

The project will encourage public and private stakeholders to adopt joint strategies for cultural and landscape identity, in order to raise awareness of the economic potential of tourism for private and public stakeholders. Boost5 will accelerate the development of an innovative and sustainable tourism methodology for the revitalization of natural and cultural heritage in Italy and Croatia with a view to balanced territorial development. Areas to be included are neglected natural tourist areas, forgotten places and heritage with a low or fragmented digital offer. With a common approach, multi-level activities will be implemented in order to remove obstacles to sustainable tourist offer by: increasing the offer, reducing the seasonal character and delocalization of tourist flows within an area. New integrated coastal and land tourism offerings will be promoted to maintain the competitiveness of the sector.

Goals:

  • Eliminate the main obstacles to the full development of a sustainable tourist offer
  • Promote societal ideas and new market opportunities through capacity building plans for innovative approaches, sustainability and governance
  • Promote synergies with different stakeholders and areas to accelerate the implementation of sustainable policies and raise environmental awareness
