Croatian citizens who have reached the age of majority have general and equal voting rights in Croatia. The voting right can be exercised only once and no one can be impeached for voting or for failing to vote. The Complete secrecy of the ballot is guaranteed by the Constitution.

All Croatian citizens who have reached the age of majority are registered in the register of voters. It is necessary to make difference between the List of voters and the Register of voters. The List of voters forms part of the Register of voters which is drawn up for every elections after closing the register (10 days prior to the election day), where voters who have residence in the Republic of Croatia and valid ID cards are registered, as well as voters without residency in the Republic of Croatia who have actively registered themselves. All Croatian citizens may check online their data on the website of the  Register of voters.

On the same website it is possible to check how many voters are registered at their address or at any other address in the Republic of Croatia. Also, it is possible to check if the address in the Register of voters corresponds to the address in the Register of spatial units.
