The key tasks of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the development of the Croatian economy through programmes aimed at incentivising export, financing the development of economic activities, incentivising small and medium-sized enterprises and infrastructure projects financing. In June 2006, the CBRD opened its regional office for the Primorje and Gorski kotar region in the building that hosts the Rijeka branch of the Financial Agency FINA, whereby enabling entrepreneurs from this part of Croatia easier and faster access to information about loan programmes and advisory assistance.

Programmes of the  Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development intended for small and medium-sized enterprises:

  • Restructuring (Financial Restructuring Loan Programme)
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (Loan programme for small and medium-sized enterprises development)
  • Islands (Islands Development Loan Programme)
  • Pigs Farming (Pigs Farming Loan Programme)
  • Agriculture and even development (Loan Programmes for agriculture and small enterprises in the territories under special state care)
  • Beef Cattle Farming (Beef Cattle Farming Loan Programme)
  • Long-term plantations (Loan Programme for growing long-term plantations)
  • Business starters (Loan programmes intended for business starters)
  • Discoveries (Financial Discovery Programme)
  • Loan programme intended for small family enterprises in tourism “Incentives for Success”
