The Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka (STeP Ri) was established in August 2008 by the University of Rijeka with support from the City of Rijeka and the Primorje – Gorski Kotar County as project partners. The Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka is also included in the IT development programme – TEHCRO, co-financed by the Business Innovation Centre of Croatia – BICRO ).
The purpose of establishing the Science and Technology Park is to encourage, through synergy of scientific, technological and entrepreneurial potentials of the University and the region, faster development of science and entrepreneurship and thus created additional values that will contribute to faster economic growth and competitiveness of the region and the country.
The services offered by the Science and Technology Park in cooperation with the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Rijeka are structured around three programmes:
1. Intellectual property protection and transfer,
2. Business Incubation (the so called spin-off companies),
3. Licencing and commercialisation of a newly developed product and-or intellectual property.
In addition, the Science and Technology Park offers independently or in cooperation with business partners advisory services and support on the basis of the business cooperation agreement that include: devising a development strategy and implementation of operation, consultations when drawing up business plans and/or business plan preparation, research and market analysis, research and competition analysis, and technology trends, improvement in production and business processes, devising the strategy for approaching potential investors, buyers and suppliers, supervision and business mentorship, consultations in marketing activities, support in the process of setting up a company, business analysis, help when collecting funds, HR management, finding an adequate professional service in the market and connecting with partners in the industry in the country and abroad.

The Science and Technology Park is located in the centre of the new University campus at Trsat, in a renewed building having more than 3,000 sq. m. of useful area, at the address Slavka Krautzeka 83/A.
