Children of certain categories of defenders and war victims have advantages in the education system, while defenders have an opportunity to attend free computer courses.
- Pursuant to the Regulation on the enrolment of children in the entity “Dječji vrtić Rijeka” (Article 21) the children of Homeland War victims and disabled people are allowed to enrol without undergoing a scoring process, namely they are directly enrolled in the nursery school. The Regulation on the enrolment of children in the entity “Dječji vrtić Rijeka” is available on the entity’s website.
- Children of defenders or civilian invalids get additional points at competitions intended for student shortage occupation scholarships, while children or foster children of Croatian Homeland War defenders get additional points at competitions intended for scholarships assigned to pupils and students according to the social criteria.
- Free basic computer courses are organised for defenders.
