The Education and Teacher Training Agency with support from the City of Rijeka organises a review of projects that are implemented, within the National Human Rights Education Programme, as an obligatory part of the education system, in kindergartens and elementary schools. They are aimed at enabling preschool children and elementary and high school students the acquisition of civic competencies and other key competencies for life-long learning.

The National Human Rights Education Programme was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Croatia towards the end of 1999. Since then, its has become an obligatory part of the education activity within the education system. Its aim is to introduce children, young people and adults to the key values of civic society, as well as the development of those intellectual and social skills that are indispensable for efficient participation in the democratic evolution of the Croatian society.
