In order to bestow recognition for exceptional achievements and contributions of special importance to the development and reputation of the City of Rijeka in the field of economy, science, culture, health and social care, education, sports and technical culture, environmental protection and other public activities, the City of Rijeka assigns public awards. The composition, number of members, scope and manner of work of the Committee for Public Awards of the City of Rijeka are determined by the Decision on the Public Awards of the City of Rijeka (“Official Gazette” of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County No. 14/13, 6/23).
