The project has been continuously implemented since 2009. The contribution of the project, called by children “The Storytellers”, is visible in a reduction of adverse effects of hospitalisation on children and in a pleasant atmosphere in the hospital created by volunteers.

Using interactive didactic and educational materials, volunteers tell or read stories to children every day before going to sleep. Reading selected stories and fairy tales can help children get rid of suppressed and / or unacceptable feelings in everyday life, and particularly under conditions of their hospitalization. Problem solving picture books can help solve smaller problems, because by listening and observing the situations in which imaginary heroes managed to overcome life problems, children learn how to tackle their own problems.
