In April 2011, the first solidarity shop in Croatia was opened in Rijeka – “St. Elisabeth’s Bread”, with the aim of distributing foodstuffs, hygienic products to the needy and socially vulnerable citizens of Rijeka and its surroundings.

The shop is dedicated to citizens of Rijeka and its surroundings – beneficiaries of permanent assistance provided by the Social Welfare Center and their family members. The City of Rijeka provides facilities free of charge for the needs of the solidarity shop.
