The Children’s Week is a traditional manifestation dedicated to children, that is held under the slogan “Love to children before anything” during the first week of October, with specially prepared programmes, aiming to promote children’s rights, their position in society and in the local community. Every year, freedom and human rights organizations encourage concrete measures to be taken with the aim of protecting and improving children’s rights, for a better understanding, acceptance and well-being of all children.

Further to the celebration of the International Children’s Day and Children’s Week, the City Department of education and schooling, in cooperation with associations and institutions of the City of Rijeka, prepares a number of performances, games and creative activities chosen for the occasion, in which children take part.
