The literary prize Drago Gervais and the visual arts prize Ivo Kalina are awarded on a biannual basis.

The subsides provided by the City include subsidies to authors with the aim of promoting literary creativity, reduced rentals for bookshops and antique trades, programme co-financing within the competition for public necessities in the field of culture, the co-financing of the renovation of facades and roofs within the urban complex of the City of Rijeka and others.
