Diversity mixer – policies and practices in cultural and creative industries

Project Goal

The aim of the project is to explore existing diversity management practices in the public and private sectors of cultural and creative industries at local and European level and identify transferable models.

Project description

Through sectoral approach to diversity management, the project focuses on diversity in the cultural and creative industries (CCI).

The Rijeka 2020 – European Capitals of Culture programme is promoted under the slogan – Port of Diversity. It is a slogan that outlines Rijeka as a port city with a rich history of multiculturalism and a multi religious city.

The Diversity Mixer project aims to further situate this diversity and openness in the field of CCI and explore existing policies and practices, as well as propose new ones that would give diversity its foundation both in the workplace, i.e. in the structure of employees and in the content that they produce.

Over two years, existing diversity management practices in the public and private sectors of the cultural and creative industries at local and European level will be explored and transferable models identified, an international conference on content diversity will be organised, capacity building activities for organisations and companies will be implemented, attempting to influence the public policy making process and incorporate new criteria into the public funding systems.

Within the project a report on good practice and a diversity report will be published, an international conference will be organised and policy recommendations regarding diversity management will be drawn up.
