Project Goal:

The implementation of energy renovation measures and use of renewable energy sources in public buildings performing educational activities that will result in reduced heating/cooling energy consumption owing to an integrated approach.

Energy renovation

Duration: September 2017 – April 2020

Competent body: Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, pursuant to the public call 4c1.3

Key activities:

This Call supports energy renovation measures that will result in reduced heating/cooling energy consumption (QH,nd) annually (kWh/yr) of at least 50% with regard to annual heating/cooling energy consumption before implementing the mentioned measures and use of renewable energy sources.

The City of Rijeka has signed Contracts for the allocation of grants for 11 buildings relating to the following works:

  • ES (elementary school) Ivan Zajc – facade, replacement of external joinery, , boiler gasification, modernising the lighting system, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • ES Kozala – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of a flat roof, replacement of external joinery,
  • ES Pećine – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of a flat roof, external joinery, boiler gasification, modernising the lighting system, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • kindergarten Krnjevo – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of the ceiling towards the unheated attic, external joinery, boiler gasification, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • ES-SE Gelsi – thermal insulation of a ceiling towards an unheated space and a flat roof, new external joinery, a new lighting system, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • ES Podmurvice – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of the roof, external joinery, modernising the lighting system, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • ES Škurinje – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of the roof, external joinery, modernising the lighting system, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • kindergarten Podmurvice – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of the ceiling towards the unheated attic, replacement of external joinery, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • kindergarten Veseljko – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of a flat roof, external joinery, boiler gasification, building in a remote meter-reading system,
  • kindergarten Kvarner – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of a flat roof and the ceiling towards the unheated attic, external joinery,
  • kindergarten Potok – ETICS facade system, thermal insulation of a flat roof and the ceiling towards the unheated attic, boiler gasification, solar preparation of consumed warm water.

The realisation of the mentioned projects will result in reduced energy consumption in public buildings performing educational activities, and will also help create a more favourable microclimate for work, it will extend the building’s duration, reduce the building’s maintenance costs, reduce the financing of energy consumption expenses, reduce energy consumption, reduce CO2  emission, and will contribute to economic development in the amount of mentioned investments.

  • Total project budget:      HRK 57,478,805.68
  • EU funding:                 HRK 15,571,954.85 (30% of justified costs)
