Substance abuse represents a serious personal and social problem which can have tragic consequences. The City of Rijeka has recognised the seriousness and complexity of this problem, therefore addiction prevention occupies one of its priority places. In addition to co-financing programmes and projects promoted by various associations and organisations, the City of Rijeka has established the Coordination Board for addiction prevention.
Preventing addiction
Many institutions and associations in Rijeka are engaged in drug addiction prevention and treatment, contributing in this way to the creation of healthy lifestyles, furthermore they also provide necessary assistance to drug addicts.
